And even after that, it's up to the author if they want to sign up again for the service for another 90 days and to offer their book for free during that time. So, when the books are free, get them!
Even if you don't want to read it now, you may later, and then you would have to pay full price (which in some cases is more than $10!) Then you can just leave the books in your Kindle Cloud until you are ready to download and read.
